Compassionate, Accredited Support
Navigating conflict can be challenging. At Olivia Koorey Mediation & Family Law, we provide a calm, balanced, confidential and respectful environment to help people resolve disputes.
Based in Sydney, we specialise in Mediation, Family Dispute Resolution, Collaborative Practice and Parenting Coordination, providing flexible support in person or via secure video conferencing.
-
Mediation is a structured, confidential process where an impartial third party, called a mediator, helps people in conflict communicate, understand each other’s perspectives, and work toward a mutually acceptable agreement. It’s a future-oriented alternative to court that empowers people to make decisions together, even in challenging circumstances.
Olivia Koorey is a Nationally Accredited Mediator (NMAS).
-
Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) is a specialised form of mediation that helps separated families resolve parenting and property disputes without going to court. Guided by an accredited FDR practitioner, the process encourages respectful communication, explores practical solutions, and focuses on the best interests of children. In most parenting matters, FDR is a required step before applying to the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
Olivia Koorey is a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner registered with the Attorney-General’s Department.
-
Collaborative Practice is a respectful, team-based approach to resolving family law disputes, without going to court. You, your former partner and your respective lawyers work together, usually with a coach, in structured meetings to reach mutually beneficial agreements. The process may also involve child consultants and/or financial advisers to support informed, future-focused decisions.
Everyone commits to open communication, transparency, and problem-solving, helping preserve dignity, reduce conflict, and protect relationships, especially where children are involved.
Olivia Koorey is a collaboratively trained professional and can assist in your collaborative matter.
-
Parenting Coordination is a child-focused process that helps separated parents manage ongoing conflict and implement parenting arrangements after orders or agreements are in place. It provides structured, non-confidential support to resolve day-to-day disputes, such as changeovers, communication boundaries and decision-making, without returning to court.
The goal is to reduce stress, improve co-parenting dynamics, and protect children from the harmful effects of ongoing parental conflict. Over time, Parenting Coordination can help families move from high-conflict interactions toward more stable, respectful, and cooperative parenting.
Olivia Koorey is a Parenting Coordinator trained to work with high-conflict families, to help them resolve disputes and improve their co-parenting relationship.
